About The Event

"Makin' Runs," the latest project by internationally acclaimed clarinetist Adrian Cox, delves into alternative ragtime repertoire from the early jazz era, aiming to capture and express the timeless essence of the music.

Adrian is one of the UK's best and most in-demand jazz musicians, spending most of his time touring and recording across Europe, South America and beyond. We are honoured and delighted to be welcoming him to the club on one of his rare UK performances.

According to legend, "Makin' Runs" is a tune attributed to Buddy Bolden, heard by Bunk Johnson in New Orleans. The phrase symbolizes Bolden's vision for inventive improvisations whilst never repeating himself.

The trio endeavors to emulate that spirit, crafting tight yet dynamic arrangements that honor the music's original intent, allowing ample room for improvisational fire.

The trio is completed by the incredible talents of:

Will Sach (double bass)

Alex “Honey” Boulton (guitar).
