Paul Higgs takes you on a delightful musical tour of the history of jazz, playing hits by the legendary greats – Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, and Miles Davis, amongst others.
Taking you through the styles of New Orleans, swing and bebop, through cool jazz, modal and Latin right up to contemporary jazz, Paul and his band give a lively and versatile performance.
Paul’s entertaining commentary enhances these classics, creating a truly memorable show.
"Paul is the most versatile musician I've ever met. He seems to "get" music the way other people breathe."
Mathew Scott, Head of Music, National Theatre.
"Paul Higgs displays a gorgeous tone, unflagging inspiration, stylistic cognisance at its most perceptive and enviable faultless chops to boot" - Digby Fairweather: BBC Presenter (Radio 2 and 3) and jazz trumpeter
