About The Event
Issey Chivers is a London-based vocalist, composer and arranger whose sound flows effortlessly between jazz, folk, and the singer-songwriter tradition. Inspired by the voices of artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy and Amy Winehouse, Issey sings with a ‘tremendous range of colours’ [Northwich Guardian, 2025], a sensitivity to detail and a quiet confidence, telling stories that feel honest and full of emotion.
Drawing on imagery of the sea, Issey’s upcoming debut album - a combination of originals and arrangements of jazz standards (set for release in 2026) - invites listeners to pause, breathe, and find beauty in life’s shifting tides. Her songs explore our longing for closeness and for moments of calm in these fast-paced, ever-changing times, while also delving into the uncertainty involved in deciding our next moves in life - the journey of finding our way back to our core selves - and learning to let…
