Renato D’Aiello has become known as one of the strongest and most original saxophone sounds around. His treatment of jazz standards and originals, both live and on CD, have won great admiration from audiences and the press. Renato studied with masters such as Sal Nistico, Tony Scott, Steve Grossman and Joe Henderson. He has played at most of the major venues and festivals in the UK, and since May 2002 he has played several times in Paris, receiving warm acclaim from Jazz Hot magazine and TSF radio. Renato performs regularly at Pizza Express in Dean Street and since July has been resident upstairs at Ronnie Scott's. He is much in demand as a guest player with many of the best musicians in the UK.
“Renato is a superlative saxophonist with a passionate and poetic soul. He has all the virtues - a beautiful sense of time and pacing and a technique which effortlessly projects his brilliantly flowing ideas.”
Ian Carr, Jazz writer
